What would you do if you desperately needed an attorney…but couldn’t afford one?

LSNV helps thousands of people each year who are in this situation. According to the most recent US Census, a surprising total of more than 150,000 people in Northern Virginia are poor enough to qualify for legal aid. For those who cannot afford an attorney on their own, legal aid can make the difference between going hungry and obtaining food stamps, between eviction or being able to stay in their home, between remaining in an abusive situation or getting away. Although LSNV has 28 case handlers on staff, we still do not have sufficient resources to serve everyone in the community who requires our assistance.

Legal Services of Northern Virginia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization.  LSNV will not expend any funds in a manner that is inconsistent with the regulations of the Legal Services Corporation or any other federal law.
